5th and 6th Sept 2005 Portland Bill

Portland Bill ledges, float fishing with mackerel strip. Calm conditions, evening session on rising tide.

We fished near to Red Crane on the 5th for 11/2 hours with float gear and thin strips of mackerel. this is Tyler's first go at float fishing but he gets on well. We had loat of small pollack but unfortunately no garfish.

6th Sept 2005
Fished the bill again in a different place with immediate results. Plenty of pollack up to 10oz, which were great fun on light gear. We seem to have discovered a deep hole that is filled with them. Then just as darkness fell there was an explosive take on Tyler's line and a two foot long garfish lept clear of the water. It was a great battle for a nine year old, he landed it with some help from mum. We will be off there again this week.

10/08/05 Chesil Beach

10/08/05 Chesil Beach, near to Chesil Cove. Calm sunny conditions over high water. Evening session.

We fished two rods with two hook rigs to rag and mackerel. I had a pollack of about 1lb first cast then nothing else for the whole session. Tyler had several small wrasse and a lovely trigger fish from 40lds out. I stayed on until 2am but blanked after the pollack.
